VECA Electric & Technologies has an opening for a Project Engineer/Administrator.  This position will be located on site and report to the Project Manager primarily and to the Controller for all accounting related responsibilities.

Position Summary:  Responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the completion of all aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion, including estimating through customer invoicing.

Work Location: Principle location will be a jobsite within the Boise Office.  Occasional work at Jobsite Office.

Desired Skills & Experience:  

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the construction industry or a degree in a construction related field.  
• Strong computer skills including MS Office suite, Bluebeam/Adobe
• Must have strong leadership skills, strong oral communication skills, active listening skills, and excellent writing skills.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with a variety of personalities.
• A self-starter who will work proactively with the Project Manager and team

Major Areas of Responsibility

Project Responsibilities:

• Receives and reviews project requests as directed
• Assists with tracking, auditing and reporting on daily project activity including cost controls, schedule compliance, productivity, quality scope definition, scope additions/deletions as directed
• Creates, submits and tracks change orders under the direction of the Project Manager
• Perform project setup duties as required
• Responsible for maintaining records and reports essential to the effective operation of ongoing projects and assigned areas of responsibility.
• Produce project-based reports internally and externally
• Assist the Project Manager with overseeing the coordination of project scope with Project Team, Operations Department and the Purchasing Department to achieve maximum efficiency and cost management
• Other duties as assigned.
• Assist Field personnel as needed

Invoicing Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly billings including various documentation required by different General Contractors.
• Review Contract for billing requirements.
• Manage subcontract lien waivers.
• Review job cost transactions and process cost transfers.
• Compile monthly substantiations with all supporting documentation.
• Understand Washington sales tax rules and ensure proper assignment of sales tax codes and rates.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to understand job progression and provide reporting as needed.
• Review job profitability and research any anomalies.
• Review job cost transactions and process cost transfers as needed.
• Manage lien waivers and any other payment documentation to ensure timely payment.

Physical Demands:  To perform the essential functions of this job the employee needs to work effectively in a variety of work site scenarios including remote construction job sites. Lift 50lbs.
