REI’s Seattle flagship store has 270,000 square foot facility, including underground parking, a 65-foot high climbing wall, a 250-seat multi-purpose room, and specialty shops.  They have been operating in Seattle since 1944.

VECA coordinated with Trane Co., who provided the re-programming and new devices.  The scope was essentially to upgrade the existing system and wiring.  To do this while maintaining business operations, the new wiring had to be installed in parallel and then phased in.  The project went smoothly and REI had no impacts to their operations.  The system included the communications/controls system for the entire building, (5) RTU’s, (23) VAV’s, and the main exhaust fan over the climbing rock pavilion.
