Washington State Legislative Building Rehabilitation project is complete – VECA Electric finalized the telecommunications cabling work on the four-year, $137M rehabilitation of our Capitol Building in Olympia. The project was managed by MA Mortenson. Projects like this arise once in a lifetime. The building’s structural and ornamental features demanded innovative and carefully planned construction methods. It was necessary to work around historical fabrics and finishes, and to work in spaces that that were originally created in the 1920’s. The schedule was extremely aggressive and the variety and number of trades on the project required more coordination, planning and cooperation than the “typical” job.
VECA completed the project on-schedule, under budget and without sacrificing quality and workmanship. Our team was under extreme pressure to meet deadlines and to deliver zero defects in this sensitive and publicly visible project. To succeed on projects of this type, it requires truly exceptional people who are willing to commit themselves fully to achieving the goal. It was rewarding to witness that rare combination of competency and dedication on this “once in a lifetime” project.
