Project Document Control Specialist

General Requirements:

Document Control Specialist consists of managing all commercial and technical documents for the project, implementing processes and tools, providing system reports, maintaining and updating electronic information systems, distributing documents, and ensuring accuracy of documents.  Must be able to work with minimum supervision and have a working knowledge of construction plans and revision controlled documents.  Examines documents, such as blueprints, drawing, change orders and specifications to post changes to computerized or manual records.  Maintains related files.  Tasks will be allocated by the Project Manager who expects on time completion of task.

Document Control Requirements:

  • Maintain and accurately update information in VECA’s document management system
  • Print/Scan large format drawings
  • Assemble submittals and O&Ms as required
  • Post updates to drawings in the office and field
  • Follow VECA processes and procedures for Document Control
  • Ensure consistency of document management
  • Prepare submittals, O&M Manuals, Warranty Letters and Panel Schedules
  • Close out project & archiving

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word) & Adobe Acrobat
  • Blueprint and drawing literate
  • Construction experience preferred

Archive Specialist

An archivist is a professional who assesses, collects, organizes, preserves, maintains control over, and provides access to information determined to have long-term value. The information maintained may  be any form of media, photographs, video, blueprints, correspondence, job files, documents or electronic records  Determining what records have enduring value can be challenging. Archivists must also select records valuable enough to justify the costs of storage and preservation, plus the labor intensive expenses of arrangement,  description, and reference service. 

Duties and skills required:

  • Acquiring and processing new documents
  • Arranging and describing records in logical manner
  • Providing reference service
  • Arranging records by original creation and destruct sequence
  • Must use current best practices to determine the correct arrangement of historical records
  • Provide methods of preservation of electronic records, so they are forward-looking and technologically proficient
  • Must be able to determine correct key word sequence for best retrieval
  • Because of the amount of sorting and listing, need to be very logical and organized and be able to pay attention to detail
  • Full understanding of destruction guidelines
  • Process incoming and backlogged collections by incorporating them into the main collection - Processing includes organizing the materials and conducting necessary conservation practices; re-housing documents in acid-free folders and containers; creating an inventory; and preparing a collection guide.
  • Answer requests by searching for the materials, producing required reproductions, corresponding with staff.
  • Collaborate in setting policy and best practice procedures.
  • Create and maintain accessible, retrievable computer archives and databases, incorporating current advances in electronic information storage technology.
  • Requires responding to employees, co-workers and superiors in a cooperative and constructive manner; requires proving support to other department personnel by responding to requests for information and assistance; requires facilitating a respectful, friendly atmosphere in the workplace

CADD/BIM Coordinator Position

We are looking for a highly motivated person to join a fast paced MEP/BIM Coordination Team in Arizona.  Solid 3D experience is required, as is a willingness to learn and expand your knowledge in the ever-changing world of construction.  Applicant needs to be ready to hit the ground running!

               Duties include (but not limited to):

  • 3D Modeling of Electrical systems.
  • Coordination with other trades (MEP).
  • Continuous updating of drawings and models to ensure accuracy.
  • Working with Field Personnel during the course of installation to maintain schedules.
  • Working with design teams to help finalize electrical design.
  • Creating Electrical Permit Drawings within required timelines.
  • As-built Drawings
  • Proper file management (following Standards).
  • Managing Xrefs (from various sources).

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks (current versions 2009-2012 – Revit MEP a plus!).
  • 3D Modeling Experience – 3-5 years min
  • Great Communication skills with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret Contract Documents (electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, civil, etc.)
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and work on tasks on your own.
  • Ability to travel from office to jobsites as needed.
  • Knowledge of BIM and how it can be utilized to the End User’s benefit.
  • Ability to fluctuate workflow to coincide with a fast-track project schedule.

      Site Safety Specialist - Arizona

Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal OSHA regulations, along with company and client safety policies and requirements.

Duties:

  • Primary duties are to maintain a high-level of Safety Performance, working closely with company supervision and tradesman, in the field as the work is being planned, set-up and executed. 
  • Will also support the company safety orientation, conducts safety audits, documents audits, inspections and is part of the solution for corrective actions
  • Train employees on site safety policies and procedures, regulatory required trainings including emergency response, lockout/tag out, fall protection, mobile equipment, industrial lift trucks, aerial lifts, and conducts tool box talks as required
  • Maintains current and accurate MSDS file for all materials on site
  • Ensures that corrective action is initiated by foremen responsible for that area, and provides assistance as needed;
  • Previous electrical construction experience and an ability to work effectively with project staff and tradesmen is a MUST
  • Evaluates hazardous conditions and works with supervision to eliminate the hazards; Maintains safety compliance within OSHA, Company & Client standards.
  • Knowledgeable and practical understanding of OSHA standards, Provides technical assistance to supervision on safety related matters
  • Conduct accident and near miss investigations as necessary
  • Must be able to prepare review and update JSA's as necessary
  • Conduct and review daily Pre Task assignments
  • Maintain a positive pro-active relationship with employees, supervision, management and client personnel
  • Must have strong verbal, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of field employees and appropriate management staff
  • Must be able to promote a positive safety culture with all employees
  • Ability to conduct OSHA 10 & 30 hour training would be of benefit.
  • Administrative capabilities would be beneficial.

FT/PT: Full Time Employee

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least five (5) years as a safety professional in a construction environment.
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certified. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PPE, HAZCOM, Confined Space, and Fall Protection procedures. 
  • Proven ability to train  
  • General knowledge of OSHA, ADOSH, and EPA rules and regulations. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of related Electrical Regulations, construction. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all other applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
